As you like it – adapted by Paul Dunn

Love is in the air, along with some double identities and a fair hand full of confusion in this energetic and joyful production which will take place all round Barnes Park. Bringing Shakespeare to Barnes Park for the 3rd year in a row, Theatre Space NE (the company behind the award winning 2013 production of The Tempest) will fill the Park with characters as you move through the wonderfully sculpted park. Come dressed for the weather and ready to walk the park.

This show took place on 21st, 22nd and 23rd August 2014. The show started at 7pm

Feedback from our audience:

“A fantastic venue and a very unique stage in that it utilised the park It was nice to see the park used for something different and it introduced me to a part of Sunderland I rarely visit”

“I love the fact that I can see Shakespeare performed in the park on my very own doorstep. An outdoor venue is such a unique experience and lends itself well to any Shakespeare performance, obviously. Been given the opportunity to use the park in this way in a great opportunity.”

“Amazing performance! Brilliant quality of acting, great use of a beautiful local park, wonderful bit of culture and a bit of mild exercise as an added bonus.”

“It was a great location and the use of existing structures and natural scenery was very clever.”

“Excellent – very atmospheric, especially when the sun had set.”

“It’s lovely to see my local park being used in such a fabulous way. It’s a beautiful park filled with life.”

“I think it is great, the staff and the police all did their part to make sure the performance was smooth and enjoyable”

“The whole performance had a professionalism and yet a sense of fun that is rarely found together.”
