Jaques/Le Beau/ Will
Alex is a teenage actor who became involved with Theatre Space NE through their Royalty Theatre Youth Academy. He has just played Sir Lancelot in “King Arthur’s Adventures” and will be playing Jaques, Le Beau and William in “As You Like It”. His main past acting experience is in theatre however he has also been involved with screen work such as the films “Goal!” & “Temporal” along with tv work such as “Carrie & David’s Pop Shop” on CBeebies and BBC’s “Inspector George Gently”. Outside of acting he is currently studying for his A-levels with the goal of going on to university to further his education in acting. He also sing in a rock duo named “Ruin the Humour” with James Errington who is also involved with Theatre Space NE.
Dale graduated from Northumbria University with a BA (hons) in Performance in 2012. As well as acting, Dale has a keen interest in music and performs with a number of acts within the North East.Recent theatre credits include: Teeth in Eggcups sketch show (Alphabetti Spaghetti Theatre), Gomez Addams – The Addams Family Musical (Nice Swan Theatre Company), Buttons- Cinderella (Beverley Artistes), Frederick Yates – Dr Mullins Anatomy of the Theatre Royal (November Club), Macbeth – Macbeth (Nice Swan Theatre Company), James Lees-Milne – Teacups, Zebras and Dancing Kaisers: Unfolding Wallington (November Club), Nathan Detroit – The World of Damon Runyon (Northumbria University). Film credits include: Detective Adder – Ash (short) (McGaun Productions), Jez – Couple of the Month (short) (Independent) and Rick Solomon – TryLife (Nice Guy Eddie Productions).
Oliver De Boyes
Andrew has taken part in drama since he was 12 when he joined the Westovian Juniors. In his years in theatre he has worked in all areas, backstage, front of house but he found a love for acting. It is a new experience to be performing in a park and Andrew is very excited to work alongside some incredible performers within Theatre Space NE and hopes this will be the start of a long and fruitful relationship with Theatre Space NE.
Having already played Cat/ Sir Kay/ Lady of Shalot/ Knight in King Arthur’s Adventures in Sunderland; Witch 1/ Lady Macduff/ Messenger in Macbeth and Annabella/ Pamela/ Margaret in The 39 Steps, As You Like It marks Helen’s fourth Theatre Space NE production this year. Previous Theatre Space NE roles have included Miranda in The Tempest and Helena in A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
Other roles have included the titular character in Anne Boleyn; Julia Simmons in A Murder is Announced and Edith Harnham in The Day After the Fair (all at the Royalty Theatre).
Last year, Helen directed the Royalty Theatre Youth Academy’s version of The Tempest and was Assistant Director for Snow White and the Seven Dwarves(Royalty Theatre).
Helen loves working with Theatre Space NE and can’t wait for their new writing festival (see TSNE website for details), which sees several of her pieces being performed.
Megan is soon to embarking on the 3rd year of her degree at The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, studying BA (Hons) Community Drama. Here she is learning to develop skills in producing drama by, with and for specific communities with the aim of social or politic change. As her degree takes her behind the scenes, she is eager to take to the stage. Previously, she has worked with Theatre Space NE’s in their production of The Tempest, in the role of Stephano. Having thoroughly enjoyed the experience, she is excited to work with them again on the up and coming shows.
Kylie Ann Ford is a South Shields based actor, ukulele lover and dinosaur enthusiast. She studied
Drama at Northumbria University and has since taken up knitting to fill her jobless days and nights.
Kylie enjoys photoshoping her head onto various animals, a skill that has no place on her CV but serves
her well for Facebook likes. She is absolutely thrilled to be working with Theatre Space NE again after
playing one third of Ariel in The Tempest last year and Lady Macbeth in this season production of Macbeth in Roker Park.
Kylie is currently working with Project Blast!, drumming at cricket matches and has her own production company (Generic Girl
Productions) along with fellow cast member Rachael Walsh.
Rachael is absolutely thrilled to be doing Shakespeare again; she recently directed the Junior Westovians’ production of ‘Twelfth Night’ and played as Witch 2 in Macbeth earlier this season . She has been involved with a variety of theatre companies in the North East with favourite roles including Queen Malicia in ‘Snow White’ and Nicky in ‘Shakers: Re-stirred’. She is currently working on her new play ‘The Morning After’ which is being produced by Generic Girl Productions, a company set up by herself and fellow cast member (and best friend- don’t tell her) Kylie Ann Ford.
Rachael is delighted to be working with Theatre Space North East again having got soaked performing ‘The Tempest’ last year.
