“A solidly enjoyable show” – The Stage

“We were in there, in the situation, right from the start!” – British Theatre Guide

“Magical from start to finish!” – Audience Member

The Christmas spirits were alive in December 2018 at Newcastle Castle.

The incredible 4M and award-winning Theatre Space North East waved audiences off on an unforgettable trip to Christmases past, present and future.

Charles Dickens’ immortal classic was told through stunning puppetry and unique staging, filling every corner of Newcastle Castle with music, merriment and the odd ghost too.

This all-new festive production, funded by Arts Council England in partnership with  Newcastle castle,  Crisis and the Newcastle west end food bank, was a yuletide event not to be missed.

A hit with audiences and critics alike, the show managed to raise over £1000 in money and food donations for homelessness and personal hardship charities in the North East. Puppetry workshops, open to the community and a platform for trainee puppet apprentices were also provided during the run.
