John Buchan & Alfred Hitchcock’s THE 39 STEPS
Alfred Hitchcock’s classic spy thriller, The 39 Steps, follows the incredible adventures of our handsome hero Richard Hannay, complete with stiff-upper-lip, British gung-ho and pencil moustache as he encounters dastardly murders, double-crossing secret agents, and, of course, devastatingly beautiful women.
Theatre Space North East are performing this irreverent but hilarious take on a Hitchcock classic in The Canny Space ( the former Holy Trinity Church) in Sunderland’s East End 20th 21st, 22nd March at 7pm. Using 2 benches, 2 ladders and a window frame (and a lot of hats!) the company will bring perfected chaos to this beautiful and atmospheric building.
There is limited street parking at the venue and as the church is currently awaiting restoration work, there are limited facilities. There will be a ‘hot drinks’ bar to help you keep the chill away. Please wear warm clothing or bring a blanket. Please book your tickets in advance via the link on the home page if you wish to pay by card. Tickers are available on the door by cash only.
