For as long as they’ve been able, humans have settled disputes, earned money and sought out glory through combat. From upper class duellists to Roman gladiators, martial artists to knights of the realm, the art of the duel has endured throughout time and across borders. And now, it’s your chance to step into the boots of some of these fighters, and have a duel of your own…
Join Tom Osborne and Theatre Space North East across two days of stage combat workshops, as you learn the intricacies of weapon technique alongside the theatrics of the duelling arena. Whether you join us for 1 or both days, you’ll have the chance to get to grips with how a variety of weapons and styles can create believable and exciting duels for stage and screen, as well as how to implement them into your own performance work.
Tom Osborne is a combat instructor and fight director based in West Yorkshire, and has worked at Conservatoires and theatres across the country, passing on his passion and experience in the use of combat in story telling.
