The Taming of The Shrew - 18-27 July 2025

Synopsis

Katherina has never quite fit the mold in the impossibly over-filtered meat market of modern beauty standards in which her insta-perfect sister Bianca seems so at home.

However, with studly suitors knocking, Kate is stalling her beloved sister's quest to climb the social ladder. Cue Petruchio, whose not-quite-sigma strategies ensure that fun and games ensue. But has he bitten off more than he can chew? For he's never encountered the likes of this shrew...

Theatre Space North East present Shakespeare's classic in a modern-verse translation by Amy Freed in association with Play On Shakespeare.
